About the Cell
The Equal Opportunity and Divyangjan Cell at MGV’s Arts, Commerce & Science College, Malegaon City is committed to fostering a campus culture that upholds the values of equality, diversity, and inclusiveness. In line with UGC and Government of India guidelines, the cell ensures that all students and staff — regardless of caste, creed, religion, gender, disability, or socio-economic status — are treated fairly and provided with equal access to opportunities. It also actively supports the needs of Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) by ensuring barrier-free infrastructure, inclusive education practices, and accessible support services.

Objectives
- To promote equality and eliminate all forms of discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, gender, and disability.
- To provide a supportive and inclusive environment for students from marginalized or underrepresented communities.
- To organize programs that create awareness about rights, equality, and diversity.
- To ensure the effective implementation of policies regarding equal opportunity and support for Divyangjan.
- To address grievances of discrimination in a fair and transparent manner.
- To provide accessible infrastructure and learning materials for Divyangjan.
- To promote awareness and sensitivity towards the needs of persons with disabilities.
Functions of the Cell
- Conducting workshops, sensitization drives, and awareness programs on inclusive practices.
- Addressing complaints of unfair treatment and ensuring timely redressal.
- Supporting the academic and psychological needs of students from disadvantaged groups, including Divyangjan.
- Liaising with various institutional committees to ensure equity-based practices.
- Promoting inclusive participation in academic and co-curricular activities.
- Providing assistive technologies, scribes, accessible classrooms, and other resources for Divyangjan.
